“Not everyone can find love sitting in history class”

That’s the problem. Lack of imagination.

Blame it on technology, society, or any other excuse you can create. It won’t change the fact that the simplest things in life, such as imagination, are what we seek.

(Sigh) It was junior year in high school and I knew him as “the boy that took the seat that I wanted in AP American History”. Ha. Then, come to realize that I had that same boy for AP English as well, what were the odds. At that moment, who would have known that that “boy” was going to change my perspective of love forever?

Funny word love is.. One word. Four letter. Yet, it amazes me the amount of good and the amount of chaos that such a simple word can cost.

I really did hate that school while attending but looking back at all that was gained and loss in that school, it wasn’t that bad. None of it was ever really that bad but when you’re a teenager, crying over the boy you once slightly hated for being so gorgeous and sitting in your seat in history class, at that moment it was a traumatic experience.

Back to my initial story…

So, there I was sitting in history class. It was only my second year in that school and surprisingly I had never seen him before; it wasn’t that big of a school compared to what I transferred from. Although I must admit, at first I didn’t really like him because of the seat he was assigned. Funny? Pathetic? I’m not really sure what to go with, however, let’s keep in mind that I was a little nerd-ish during that time. Then it all changed… (sigh) One note changed everything about him, that school, my recent move into town, everything. That one class note followed by the most beautiful smile I had ever seen, was the beginning of how I found love sitting in history class.

I know not everyone can find love by simply sitting in history class, but I did. The problem with that quote isn’t how no one can’t find love by the simplest actions, it’s knowing you found it and having the pleasure to know what it feels like because, you can’t really miss what you have never experienced. Therefore, lack of imagination is what I’m blaming it on. Even the smallest drop of imagination would allow you to believe, even for a second, that it really can be that easy to find love; as easy as sitting in class while you pass notes.
